Malaga
Hello my very missed friends and family,
Today was a MUCH better day. I had my classes, which were fine. I am struggling to understand Spain Spanish. There C's sound like th's here, (it sounds like they all have this really bad lisp) and other little quirks so I find myself a little lost in class, but the teachers here are very helpful. I am learning a lot of stuff that I didn't learn in Costa Rica, so that is a big plus. This is my school:
Yesterday afternoon I went into the city. It is such a gorgeous city. Old buildings, and lovely little walk ways. Artists on the streets, nuns and priests walking around, church bells ringing, two men on a bench playing an accordian and trumpet. I could have walked around the city all day but I had to get back for dinner. I also went to the Plaza de Toros de La Malagueta, (in english: bullfighting ring). Here are some pics I took of the city.
Today, as a school activity, we all went on a hike. The leader said "It's just a nice little hike up the mountain".. nice little hike my ass. This was the equivalent of AB mountain in Skagway, but not as high. Luckily I was prepared. Here are some pictures:
Tomorrow I am going to go to the train station, and then to the city center again to look around. I am hoping to go to the Picasso museum. Did you know that Pablo Picasso was born here? I didn't, but he was, it's true. So I will go and admire some of his work.
Hasta manana!!

Plaza de Toros (no fights were planned this month)
Everyone rides scooters here... EVERYONE~!
This is the Cathedral. It was my favorite thing that day. If you are a Ken Follett fan, he wrote "World Without End" and "Pillars of the Earth", then you can understand why I am so fascinated by cathedral building. In his books he talks about the master builder and his plans for building such a massive and complex structure. It was so cool to walk into this building and know the history of how it was built. This one was built in the 1400's.
